NEWS AND INFORMATION
RE-OPENING
OUR GOALS IN RESTARTING SERVICES:
1. We want to glorify God in all that we do. That includes operating in accordance with what our government has asked us to do and establishing policies that help protect the well-being of all who come under the ministry of our church.
2. We want to mitigate the risk of spreading the virus.
3. We want to protect the most vulnerable people in our church. Vulnerable people are described as the elderly as well as people with health conditions that may have compromised their immune system. We will leave that to the individual to decide if they fit that description.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW IF ATTENDING IN PERSON:
We as a church are doing everything we can to guarantee the safety and good health of those attending the services. We will be doing special cleaning and sanitizing of the sanctuary before each service.
We are configuring the seating to guarantee social distancing and will be providing hand sanitizing stations. We will designate the area at the back of the sanctuary for families with young children to sit, affording some space to move around if desired.
We encourage all of those attending to practice the same safeguards that you would use when shopping at a store or other public buildings. We also encourage our older members and those with pre-existing conditions or other medical issues to not attend services until a later time. At this time we will not have Sunday School or offer nursery during the service.
While restrooms will be available for use during the service, we encourage you to plan to use them only if necessary. We will use a single point of entry and exit through the main front doors where you will find an offering plate for giving your financial support.
WE ASK EVERYONE TO LOVE THEIR NEIGHBOR:
I know these are drastic changes from the last time we attended service together, but this is a drastically different world we live in. Let us be reminded this is not the first time the church has survived similar circumstances and we will survive this because God is not finished with His Church. On March 15th, our church changed to become an online church. This Sunday we change again to be a combined online and in-person service and I suspect this is how church will be for the foreseeable future. Hang in there – with God’s help and the support of each other we can do this! Please pray for us as a church through this uncharted territory.
